The Humanities Department announced three awards and four scholarships in excellence.

“Hard work is key to success,” said Dr. Gerald Burns, division head in Humanities.

Sarah Rodriguez received the Athena Award. She enjoyed the ceremony because it brought her friends together to celebrate.

“I feel great because of the peer recognition of seeing our fellow classmates win awards,” said Rodriguez. “Philosophy is a big part of my life, being recognized is something I will remember for days to come.”

Rodriguez is planning to do an internship at St. Petersburg University. She will be working for juvenile diabetes research.
